The aforementioned small beginnings...

The very first things I knitted.  From the Idiot's Dishcloth pattern (a very well known and traditional pattern it seems), they are both knitted in Wendy Supreme 100% Cotton DK.  I found it hard to knit with, it was far too easy to pull my stitches too tight, and then the cotton has very little stretch or "give" in it, so doing the decreases in the second half became very difficult.  I think (I hope) I'm going to find my next project easier from this point of view as I'm using a slightly more forgiving yarn.

Too pretty to be dishcloths, they are destined to be his 'n' hers facecloths instead.
